Two seafarers have been seriously injured after falling from scaffolding on a
bulk carrier queuing off Port Kembla.
New South Wales Maritime said the workers fell about nine metres into a
cargo hold on 82,926dwt United Treasure.
One suffered suspected spinal injuries and a fractured arm, while the other
had fractures to both legs.
A rescue helicopter winched the pair from the ship and transferred them to
Wollongong Hospital.
Shipping movement information from Port Kembla Port Corporation said the
vessel was not due to load coal until Sunday.
