Accredited Specialists Directory - Law Institute Victoria

Here at WCV's we know that choosing the right lawyer is one of the most
important decisions you will ever make.

In the past we have requested from the LIV a specialist directory of their
Registered Lawyers so we can refer our clients to competent lawyers.
We were told at the time of contacting the LIV that there was no such listing.

Then today I found this, http://members.liv.asn.au/livweb/Specialists.aspx

An Accredited Specialist search facility that can help you find a lawyer
who is a leader in their field and its supplied by guess who??????????
Yep! The Victorian Law Institute!!!!

So maybe, just maybe, they Listened and it goes like this...

Q. Why choose a Specialist?

A. Only the best lawyers in their field of expertise become LIV
Accredited Specialists.

Accredited specialists must have at least five years full time practice
experience and at least three years practise experience in their area of
specialisation.

Accredited Specialists must maintain a high degree of Professional
Development in their area of specialisation.

All specialists must pass a comprehensive examination process,
testing technical knowledge, writing and practical advocacy skills.

This examination process is developed and assessed by industry experts.

Specialists need to apply for re-accreditation every three years.

Only Accredited LIV Specialists are allowed to use the Accreditation
logo to promote their practice.

Accredited Specialisation
The Specialisation scheme aims to benefit the public and the profession
in three ways:

Being an Accredited Specialist offers potential clients a reliable means of
identifying solicitors with special competence in particular areas of practice,
as recognised by their peers and the Law Institute of Victoria.

Provides incentive and opportunity for solicitors to attain higher levels of
competence in their chosen areas of practice.

Encourages improvement in the quality, speed and cost-efficiency of
legal services

I am looking for a lawyer who knows a great deal about Sodium dichromate!

I have just found that I have a case for Worksafe regarding my contact with this material.

I have found a great difficulty finding a Doctor who understands my predicament.

So please if there is any one in our Law system that knows anything, please me at
