Pursuant to section 20C of the Accident Compensation Act 1985, the
VWA is required to exercise its powers and perform its functions under
the Accident Compensation Act 1985, the Accident Compensation
(WorkCover Insurance) Act 1993, the Occupational Health and Safety
Act 2004, the Equipment (Public Safety) Act 1994, the Dangerous Goods
Act 1985, the Mines Act 1958 and the Road Transport (Dangerous Goods)
Act 1995 subject to the general direction and control of the Minister and any
specific written directions given by the Minister.
The Minister cannot give a direction in relation to a specific person.
