Stakeholder Reference Group for the Hanks report

Peter Hanks QC will meet and consult regularly with a stakeholder reference
group established by the Minister.

The Stakeholder Reference Group consists of the following members:

Brian Boyd - Secretary, VTHC

Graham Bird - Federal and Victorian Secretary, Australian Meat Industry
Employees' Union (AMIEU)

Cesar Melhem - Victorian Branch Secretary, Australian Workers Union (AWU)

Wayne Kayler-Thomson - (CEO) Victorian Employers Chamber of Commerce
and Industry (VECCI)

Tim Piper - Australian Industry Group (AIG),Victorian Branch Director

Steve Irving - Chairperson - Self Insurers Association of Victoria (SIAV)

Jane Stephens - (CEO) - Australian Medical Association (AMA)

Michael Brett Young - (CEO), Law Institute of Victoria (LIV)

Marcus Fogarty - Representative - Australian Lawyers Alliance (ALA)

Elana Rubin -Chairperson of WorkSafe Victoria, will chair the Stakeholder
Reference Group.

WCV's would like to know:

Where are the injured workers here and who is representing them?

We have the Insurers, AMA, LIV, ALA, VTHC but no injured workers?

Its also interesting that worksafe are chairing this stakeholders group.

Tim Holding has guaranteed us as workers publicly that any decisions
made by this group would be impartial and transparent?

How can anything be impartial or transparent when its being ran by
worksafe and is manned by worksafe providers and affiliates?

We know that worksafe make up the rules as we go along, so why should we
trust them to ensure our rights are even being considered?

Workcover Victims believes that this group is not balanced and cannot show
fair and impartial changes due to their direct connections with worksafe.

I agree 100% of course it shows the truth with flying colours that there is absolutely nothing impartial about the Hanks report or the stakeholders group.
Injured workers are ignored for a reason.
Legislation is not worth the paper it is written on and causes harm to injured workers on a daily basis.
Leading to poverty, personal losses, suicide or suicidal tendencies, discrimination in every way including medical treatment as basic as a G.P.

People are brainwashed from an early age and led to believe we have rights, but in reality on workcover we learn the truth and we also learn that our democracy that leads us to believe that everyone is equal before the law is not true. Is it not a fact that our equal rights are consistantly written away by legislation and in reality if we lose the ability to earn an income a living and to function in every day life we are given basic crumbs after fighting long and hard for our rights ( if we are LUCKY)!
I also have to question all "governmental" views on human life above profit. I have to question the questionable antics played daily by the workcover system, regardless of how legislation supposedly covers us!

I certainly question Mr Hank and his report! I question why is it that our views when raised to Tim Holding only apparently peripherally relate to our real knowledge of the legislation the changes and the understanding of the actual effects upon the injured directly relating to the report.

I also question... why is it that I was not forwarded to the appropriate PUBLIC submission and why it was not open for discussion for very long or well publisised?

Because.. BECAUSE! They do NOT want us to have a voice.. because its about profiting off anothers misfortune.

It is about sneaking all the dirty little back door legislations into place with the falicy that we have a voice we have a vote and they actually care about how their legislation effects our every day life!

So many people are asleep... if they were not sleeping they would be COMPLAINING.

Wake up everyone.. accidents happen, injuries happen!

We all need to stand up against every little attempt to take away our rights before we have none left!

Government bodies are Corporations.. they do not hold a human value.

Add things up.. that is what this all adds up to!
