He has life threatening injures and nearly doesn't survive it.
This man is put back together by titanium plates and bolts which is holding his back and pelvis together. His heart was injured and his lungs badly bruised and he still suffers terribly from pain.
After many months of hospitalisation and rehabilitation he is told to return to work.He will most likely not be able to walk by the time he is 50 and will more than likely end up in a wheel chair, so who is going to look after him then? Thanks to Mr Kennett and Mr Bracks this man has no common law recourse for his injuries.Who will pay his house mortgage his car payments and care for his family? He wont be able to work so where does that leave him?
Are workcover going to pay his bills and mortgage? I don't think so!
This story shows the need for all injured workers to be able to claim common law payments for their injuries, as he was injured at work, but before October 20th, 1999!
The legislation needs to be reversed to include all injured workers right back to 1997 Mr Holding.
