People injured at work deal with a system that frequently creates secondary problems and complications to the initial injury The experience of dealing with a workplace injury claim proves to be a confusing, confronting and toxic process that is detrimental to the hard working Australian's health.
The amount of secondary psychological injuries that many long-term injured workers develop after being processed by the WorkCover system is costing this country billions of dollars, through lost productivity, future earning capacity, taxpayer funded pension support to look after the people that can't return to work. We understand there is now a growing suicide rate connected with the WorkCover scheme.
We believe in the equal and inherent value of human life. It is our opinion the Australian Workers Compensation Scheme is adversarial and based around inhumane bullying and corporate profits.
We call on the Federal Government of Australia to take action and give decent working Australian's a fair go when they are at their most vulnerable.
