What Makes a Fair Workplace?

The Victorian Workplace Rights Standard

The Victorian Government apparently supports a unitary industrial
relations system provided that it is apparently fair.

In 2005 the Government adopted the Workplace Rights Standard.

The standard consists of seven principles which the State
Government apparently believes should underpin a fair industrial
relations system.

The standard principles are:

A comprehensive Safety Net of Wages and Conditions.
(unless you get hurt at work!)

The Australian Industrial Relations Commission acts as an
Independent Umpire.
(unless you have no funds to run a claim)

Collective Bargaining and Industrial Action to be allowed.
(unless you are a member of a union!)

Freedom of Associations.

The regulation of Unfair Dismissals.
(unless you are constructively dismissed)

Equal Pay for Work of Equal Value.
(unless you are female!)

Protection of Work and Family.
(unless you have a workplace injury!)
